Your powers

  • Love: Whether friends, family, or a significant other, you are kind and generous to those you love. Passion and commitment are both key to who you are.
  • Sharing: You give freely to others, supporting them through troubles and joys. You’re there to share both the good and the bad that come your way.
  • Bonding: People trust you, even if you’re just met. You can also get connection by spending time in nature or living with a companion animal.
  • Community: You find belonging through teams, social groups, faith communities, and/or causes. Strong social ties are vital for your well-being and you’re willing to give them energy to make them grow.

Your kryptonite

  • Self-sacrifice: Your care for others can make it hard to say “no” to others who take more than you can easily give.
  • Big problems: Having a big problem can be a way you get sympathy and a sense of connections from others. Whether sickness, injury, or other issues, even if you don’t get response from others, you can always feel connection by being sorry for yourself.
  • Settling: Losing love causes great pain, so you might take only the crumbs of love when they come into your life instead of risking being alone and finding another, deeper connection through love elsewhere.

Where to shift your focus

  • Connect with yourself: Humans crave connection, but you can’t serve anyone from an empty vessel. How can you make sure you’re meeting your own needs before helping others around you?
  • Set limits: Connection is wonderful, but it can lead to a blurring of boundaries. Worrying about others and always showing up can, over time, make you resentful. Instead, practice saying “no” and find space for yourself in the process.
  • Growth and Contribution: Combined, these two needs make us feel fulfilled and whole. Happiness isn’t about always giving the best of yourself to others; it’s also about making progress and growing. You understand the vital need for community and helping others. Remember that your needs are part of the group’s. How can you continue to grow while giving back to those around you?
